Description
Updated August 24 2023: Major update. Now seats 4 in pressurized comfort. Pertam certified, even with full internal cargo (not with crane cargo); you'll start to lose speed but have enough momentum to get past it and continue to orbit.

Based on the IMDC V-10 Dragonfly by JD Horx

IMDC V-13 DragonFly:

The original V-10 Dragonfly was envisoned as a light gunship that could also carry two troopers into battle. However, with the advent of newer craft with much greater combat capabilities like the V-12C Osprey, this ship was showing its age. These old ships went through a significant redesign to upgrade their firepower, as well as provide a pressurized environment for its passengers. The redesign doubled its passenger capacity, now able to carry four in pressurized comfort. Additional thrust was added to aid its escaping planetary gravity wells and to allow rapid insertion. This old design thus received a new lease on life, filling a role where the heavy firepower of an Osprey is not required but not requiring its passengers to be wearing full spacesuits.

Out-of-character:

This was honestly an afterthought after doing the V-13H. I figured I'd backport that into updating the original V-10. It turned out to be a much more difficult task than I had imagined in order to get four passenger seats and the exterior doors on, requiring major conveyor rerouting and conversion to small reactors, but I made it work. This is entirely a lore vehicle. It's not great at combat, it's not the best passenger ferry, but it'll do.

I'll take a look at those other ships. Never played around with them much. I try to stick with JD Horx's original intentions as much as possible and copy his aesthetics. So far the most extreme changes I've ever done were to the Rhino, simply because so much of it just didn't work very well in the modern context of the game, although given its small size it was nowhere near the complexity of most other things. Reinforced conveyors have now changed EVERYTHING. Having square blocks you can mount stuff to, use as ceilings, walls, or floors, hold air pressure, and more are such a game changer. I'm probably going to have to go back and make some changes to the Cerberus and Atlas. I already made a couple small changes to the Titan where they were sorely needed.

Seems like the only grids that need sprucing are the Ocelot the Albatross and the Akula. Keep up the good work! I've been using the Prometheus as a light frigate but the edits are so minimal it seems trivial.

This is lovely, I always build the Dragonfly as an early scout gunship because it's light enough that it easily runs with just the atmospheric engines which the shuttle doesn't have. The only thing I'd note is the ship doesn't have a battery, a large one fits perfectly right above the seats tho so easy fix.
