the ares I-X was a expendable soldi fuel rocket desgined by NASA as a test vehicle for the ares 1 upper stage, it made its first flight in 2009, with a false upper stage, the flight lasted 2 minutes.

this is what the Ares I-X would have been with a functional Ares 1 upper stage.
