Description
Originally manufactured by Archsteel Yards in New Iapetus, Winterhalter submarines were only in production for a year until they were acquired by the Coalition for research purposes. Many surviving models come equipped with an onboard research laboratory, and they are heavily armed. The Coalition has retrofitted this Winterhalter with new weapons systems, a centralized laboratory, and a far more effective internal layout. The increased combat power of this vessel comes at the cost of the ventral shuttle, in favor of a dual coilgun array and an airlock access.

This is a complete overhaul of the Winterhalter class of subs. Internal space has been rearranged, many conveniences have been added, and firepower rivaling that of a Typhon 2 has been affixed to the hull. Enjoy captaining the pride of the Coalition's Abyss-Clearing fleet, a vessel that excels both at defending tooth and nail from the ocean floor, and attacking any creatures or submarines foolish enough to get in the way.

Thank you for this information. I shall now modify the games code to start the cold caverns at 500 meters.

@MrWomanStealer
The Beluga is not rated for mudraptor sex below 1400 meters - I recommend using protection regardless

It's bot friendly! Though the top deck lockdown feature doesn't interface well with the bots, so I recommend only using that as a temporary measure - otherwise some get stuck on the ladder up trying to repair a leak or reach an item. Aside from that, it's got a full set of waypoints and tags for bot performance!
