Merc: Samuel Nkosi

Description
Samuel Nkosi joined the South African National Defence Forces shortly after they were founded and served for four years as a heavy weapons gunner in the infantry. After his contract ended, he was looking for new opportunities and was finally attracted by AIM's regular paychecks. Some former clients report that not only did his menacing gaze and physical appearance behind a mounted machine gun help to resolve tense situations during missions, but he is also a very affable guy - at least as long as you're standing on the same side of his gun's muzzle.

Contains:
- New Merc "Samuel Nkosi"
- New Custom Perk "Overwatch Expert"
- Includes 129 Custom Voice-Responses (English)

If I use an RPG-7 for it, then when fired, the projectile freezes in the air for a few seconds and then explodes (((

Hello Everyone

I just want to give you a short update on a known issue that was reported to me, about the passive perk icon appearing multiple times when being on the sector map.

I did some further investigation and discovered, that the icon might get added multiple times to your action bar as soon as you activate some mod through the mod-manager during the same active client session. Doesn't matter which mod. This operation will cause a complete reload of all mods and therefore the passive display icon will be added multiple times to the runtime library. I have to do some further investigation on how to avoid this, but I can assure already, that it's only a display issue. The functionality of the passive perk itself is independent from its display and should work as intended.

Nevertheless for the time being a client restart after adding new mods will fix this problem till i found a more elegant code-wise solution.

Thanks a lot again for reporting this to me

Hello Everyone,

Some minutes ago I deployed the first iteration of the promised perk update for "Samuel".

His new perk "Overwatch Expert" will grant him a +30% damage bonus to all attacks when he is overwatching a defined area. As requested earlier, I also increased his starting level from 1 to 2 to balance him out against the vanilla mercs.

Please note, that the change of his default perk and the level increase will have no effect to any existing saves. This is caused by the fact, that the game is saving all "current traits" and the current level of a merc within the gamestate itself. This makes perfect sense, because the player will add new traits over the playthrough time when mercs advances and level up. In consequence, the change of his default perk will only take place in new games you are going to start in future.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Hello Everyone,

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

@Lion of Judah: Currently I am using different voice generation tools for my Mercs. Before i start with the creation of a voice, i try to answer myself the following question: What product offers a voice, that is going to fit the overall design of the Merc i'm currently working on. There are various generators out there that deliver acceptable results, but there is one thing you have to consider, just in case you are interested in using such tools for your projects as well. In order not to violate applicable rights in your country as well as the steam workshop rules, you have to make sure, that the software you are going to use, comes with a full commercial licence for distribution. Under this point of view I can currently recommend to take a further look at the products from ElevenLabs, Speechify, Replica and Murf.

I hope this answers your question and points you in the right direction.

Enjoy your weekend!
