Shards of Life

Description
A mod to make Life Crystals a teensy bit more difficult to acquire, and to encourage exploration. Life Fruits are left alone because they're already difficult to acquire.

Life Crystals found throughout the world no longer drop whole, instead they drop a Shard of Life, of which 4 can be combined to make a Life Crystal, the amount needed is configurable.

To make up for the reduction in total Life Crystals obtainable from the world, this mod also adds a very rare chance (0.02% multiplied by the amount of shards needed for a Life Crystal, unaffected by luck) for non-boss enemies to drop a Shard of Life.

Also includes some extra config options just to make gameplay more interesting, such as increasing the number of life crystals generated, or enabling extra recipes for Heartreach, Lifeforce, and Restoration potions that use a Shard of Life

Nothing I can really do about that unfortunately, this seems to be an issue with tModloader rather than any individual mod. Why TML wouldn't sync configs to the host is beyond me.

Love usin' this mod. But it seems that unless I tell the other players to change their config to match mine they cannot join a world.
The config is small and it is an easy fix to guide people towards, but is there a way to have the server's configs take president and override or allow players with miss-matched numbers to join in so that I don't have to instruct each person to change configs before play for hostin' a server? :p

The bestiary shows the odds of shards dropping, but if you mean a way to calculate how rare the shards will be when you configure the amount needed for a full crystal, I can add that quite easily, it just won't be dynamic (meaning you'll have to do the math yourself, but it'd be better than nothing)

Do you think you could display the drop chance in-game? Messing around in the config I was worried that the shards were not dropped by enemies, so I think it'd be neat if the drop chance was at least displayed in there to let players know enemies can drop the shards and with whatever the odds are from the shards per crystal selected. (I'm not asking to be able to configure it, I just want to see it in the config so I can easily view the odds)

I could def make that a config option, not a bad suggestion. There's a few complications I can see myself running into but otherwise it's doable.

Is it possible for this mod to alter Life Crystal recipes to instead give Shards of Life? One of the mods i have installed (Thorium) adds in a recipe that allows Life Quartz to be crafted into Life Crystals, and because the amount of Life Quartz required to craft it is so low it makes it easier to obtain & kinda defeats the purpose of this mod
