This mod aims to address the problem of late-game unplayability by implementing structural changes to the construction, migration, and population growth systems for AI. It strives to maintain the highest possible integrity while ensuring optimal performance.

The Update:

In this update, the game has become more aggressive and prone to civil wars, much like in the base game. Although this affects performance, the game feels more lively and dynamic in political scenarios. If the wars are impacting your performance, please consider reducing the AI aggressiveness in the game rules.



Some minor changes have been made in the code for definitions such as 'TICKS_FOR_FULL_SPENDING_UPDATE', 'MIN_POP_NUMBER_LEAVE_IG', and 'MAX_WEEKLY_CONSTRUCTION_PROGRESS' (thanks to @kimms071711) which should not affect gameplay but together lead to a significant increase in performance.

Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the default game rule has now been changed to have a moderate effect on the consolidation and conversion of pops for AIs, ensuring that all players can experience all the functionalities of the mod.

The changes below are only valid for AIs and require starting a new game

What Has Changed?

Construction sectors have been disabled to prevent the additional ticks required for construction effects like increased hiring, changes in living standards, state alterations, wages, etc.

However, you as the player will not notice significant differences, as the GDP of the countries will continue to grow (along with other factors such as prestige and literacy) through a simplification of the game's economic system.

Game Pops

Countries' populations will now experience neither real growth nor decline, replaced instead by a growth in population based on GDP increase. Furthermore, migration between AI states will be disabled, and emigration from smaller countries to developed ones has been completely halted.

AI will make an effort to convert and assimilate their population into the primary culture, thus sparing your CPU from doing this work. Assimilation and conversion of the population for the player will be a decision they must make.

AI

Besides the above-mentioned changes to the AI, they are now also less likely to engage in large-scale wars with each other in the late game, which previously caused significant lag. These wars were frustrating for players since they did not directly involve the player and yet still resulted in performance issues without providing any engagement or benefit.

Furthermore, repetitive events such as 'inefficient agriculture' and 'Oil!!' have been reduced for the player, to accommodate the game's increased speed, which made these events occur too frequently. For AI-controlled entities, these events have been completely removed, reducing the overall processing demands and contributing to a smoother gameplay experience.

Although the AIs no longer construct military buildings, they now benefit from a more progression every decade, reflecting not only an increase in military might but also in various resources such as coal, steel, iron, and oil. This progression, based on their initial GDP, ensures a consistent growth in vital sectors. Therefore, there's no need to worry about the AI becoming too weak without new construction, nor is there a need to concern oneself with them lagging in economic resources. This balanced and nuanced approach ensures that the AI remains competitive and engaging across multiple aspects of the game, without unnecessarily taxing the game's performance.

Recommendation

Please disable V-Sync and set the maximum FPS to 30 to ensure that the problem with your lag is not related to your GPU, but rather your CPU. This should increase your game speed considerably, depending on your GPU.



Problems This Mod May Cause
  • Lack of fidelity to local cultures and assimilation.
  • AI trade routes will not expand due to the simplification of the economy.
  • Forming a customs union with another AI country may lead to strangeness due to inconsistent GDP and market size ratios.
  • Non-historical data on population, GDP, or living standards for AI due to the approximations made in this mod may not be exact.

Supported Languages

The mod was created for English and Portuguese but also includes automatic translations (hence I could not confirm their accuracy) for Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and Russian. Other languages have English set as the default.

when i use this mod i can't really choose any option of diplomacy, can't control my subjects or anything, idk what to do, is this a bug? it only happens when i enable the mod

I recently used this mod and it can still significantly improve productivity. I played till the end of the game quite smoothy. However, it strongly weakens AI. E.g. I played 2 games for the same country with and without this mod where I tried to create an agriculture empire. I entered the French market in both cases. The coal production with mod was 1800 tons in 1885, whereas it was 12k tons without any mods. Additionally, AI could not supply efficiently itself with military goods, therefore I had first time to build ammunition factories to sustain my skirmish infantry.

The mod was last updated for 1.5. It may have worked better earlier, I cannot tell something about it.

So, if you do not care about the sustainability of the Great powers, you can use the mod. Game works well, but seems to be unfair to AI countries.

apparently, while this mod is enabled, you CAN'T spawn any urban center, no matter how urbanized this area already is. So I was playing Britain, at the beginning there are 2k+ urbanization points in London area, but the level of urban center there is still 0, and same thing also applies to other countries.

pls fix this issue.

apparently, while this mod is enabled, you CAN'T spawn any urban center, no matter how urbanized this area already is. @Capitalista, como se já não tivesse ruim o suficiente a Paradox piorou o desempenho na última atualização. Mesmo com qualquer mod de dempenho já não é mais a mesma coisa

Na verdade era problema com outro mod mesmo, tentei a outra versão e funcionou direitinho. Com essa atualização nova tá impossível de jogar, mesmo com o mod o jogo fica muito lento.

Esse é a versão do mod para a 1.4, meu camarada soviético capitalista!
