IMDC M-12c Puma Medium Infantry Fighting Vehicle

While the IMDC was overall pleased with the performance of the M-12 Puma, it did encounter some shortcomings. The primary issue was its reliance on uranium for power. As uranium was only available off-planet, this meant keeping Pumas supplied was a rather expensive endeavor. Its weapons systems had also become outdated, with much more powerful weapons now being fielded both by the IMDC and its opponents. As such, a program was instituted to update this venerable design.

The updated M-12c Puma now features Autocannon and Assault Cannon turrets, replacing the older Gatling and Rocket turrets. More important, however, were the changes to its power system. While it does retain a pair of small reactors for emergency use, primary power now comes from a pair of efficient Hydrogen Engines and batteries. An energy management subroutine optimizes the power to avoid unnecessary resource drain. The wheels were also updated to new off-road tires for improved traction. New bottom paneling also gave much-needed added protection for critical components.

Specs:
1x Autocannon Turret
1x Assault Cannon Turret
2x Hydrogen Engines
2x Small Reactors
1x Battery
1x Front-mounted camera (poor internal visibility really can't be helped).
1x Gimbal Camera that can turn and elevate.

Out-of-Character: while externally very little was changed, this was basically a gut and rebuild of everything under the skin. The hydrogen engine and turret conversion was far more complex than originally expected.

Scripts used:

Isy's Solar Alignment Script (for power management)
WMI Radar
Auto LCDs 2 by MMaster

The way the power management script works is, the rover runs on battery normally. Once the battery nears depletion or if too much power is drawn, the hydrogen engines activate to recharge it and shut off automatically when done. Because a hydrogen-powered craft cannot start itself up if you exhaust all the fuel, the reactors are there as a backup. You will need to manually start them in this case; this is a failsafe to ensure you do not accidentally wind up with a completely unrecoverable rover.

To get into the rover, reference the photo showing the cockpit. Barred windows allow you to interact with the cockpit through them, while providing a little extra protection There are now heavy armor panels along all the bottom surfaces, so it should be substantially more bump-resistant than the original. Handling has been tuned and overall it drives quite nice. This version has had additional windows installed. While it strays a bit farther from JD Horx's original design, it does provide dramatically improved visibility.

Note: Wasteland DLC is ONLY needed for the barred windows, which are not at all necessary to function. They're purely an extremely minor aesthetic and durability improvement. Go ahead and paste it without them.

Further note: to drive into the new Atlas, be sure to set suspension strength to 12.5% and take it slow. I resolved the earlier incompatibility through improvements to the Atlas ramp. You may get a few minor sparks from the Assault Cannon turret when going through, but it shouldn't damage itself if you are careful.

Well yes, it's a tradeoff, and to a large extent personal preference. Some servers force first-person view. While there's a gimbal camera, some people just prefer windows.

i like the visibility and all, but with the current war im in the enemies are using lots of explosive weaponry and heavy hitting things, so i think ima stick with the more armored pumas instead

but this DOES have some good uses, like scouting missions, recon, etc.
but im currently fighting in urban warfare, so this isn't exactly that useful for the whole situation
