Life will find a way. Although, not exactly regular life, and not exactly in a way one would consider normal or reasonable or okay. Thorn-necks, in response to being turned into Landplix way back when, are RE-EVOLVING THEIR FLIGHT. Although, it's the neck spikes evolving into wings, not their, you know, parts that are literally called wing-flags. But it can still fly. If it looks stupid but it works, it's not stupid.
