[proof of concept] High Power 10MW substation

Description
This is a proof of concept for high power (here 10MW) substation. It's ugly, wrongly sized, and super cheep, as I can't really get around editor, but it works.

In many games I specialize in "modding" by editing a definition file directly, to read into and edit events objects and so on, so I decided to take a shot at it, and it did work.

Problem:
Big and dense cities use a lot of power within the range of one substation requiring placing multiple units.
Additionally since each substation requires road connection AND you only get half power when using underground cables placing all of those starts becoming a problem.
There are some items on workshop already that use either multiple connections or one high voltage one, but those substations are still limited to 2.50MW, and many people in comments say it's hard coded limit as you can't edit it in building editor

My solution:
In building.ini I added a single line "$CONSUMPTION_PER_SECOND eletric 7.50" this does not cause constant consumption, but rather increases substation capacity by that amount in megawatts.
Just to make sure I'm not crazy I made Large Water Accelerator to test if I can power all of that (as you can see in thumbnail).

Where to go next:
It would be nice if someone made a proper model and pricing for such high power substation. using idk... transformer or big heat exchanger as a base.

@ cola98765 I've made a mod using your proof-of-concept! Check out Workshop Item 3026792638 .

Thank you for sharing your solution!

@balacvlad in theory it's possible, just in place of 7.50 add 17.50 or 37.50.
The problem however would be with connections as biggest (basegame) cable even above ground is 18MW, so when creating one would need to add multiple HV inputs

Thanks for creating this object.
Can you make one of 20 MW or 40 MW?

:steamhappy:

I tried to do the same with a transformer and a switch (high and low voltage). The effect is amazing. The issue is solved not only with increased power. There are a few more unexpected possibilities. The devices are connected to each other within its radius of action (according to the type of substation) without wires at all, including to the power plant. Thanks for the idea. There is a place to dig thoughtfully. Comrades, the energy revolution has taken place in the Soviet Republic!:steamhappy:

considering the amount of electricity required for dense industrial sectors, aswell as the support infrastructure required to maintain such high densities, having a singular high voltage substation such as this would be far simpler than having to spam multiple substations. which would seriously complicate the power grid, rather than the ease and efficiency of just hooking up a HV underground power line to one substation, and calling it a day

The official limit sucks.

@GoRun 20K pop in 500m square is totally achievable and will be about 6MW or actual power, however bigger problems for me were with water pumping.

Anyway, this is just a proof of concept, I'm not actually using it, this is not balanced and as said I would use bigger more expensive buildings to balance it out. This is more so you don't have to lay down 4 underground wires (with that 6MW example) and think of how to place those 4 buildings
