Description
Overrides some of the game's constants for my own preferences.

I originally made this mod because combat skill gain is nearly non-existant if you use the Insects Level Up mod. Skill decay, even if you micro-manage to have survivors use the shooting target every day, offsets most xp gained unless the survivor is "interested" in combat, and even then, no one tends to reach skill level 10 before you finish a scenario.

While I was tweaking constants, however, there were a few others I decided to change.
User Configurable Values
Available in game Options -> Mod Options
  • Starting Breakthrough techs count. Game default is 5.
  • Building Repair threshold. Game default is 75%.
  • Robot Repair threshold. Game default is 30%.

Other Mod changes & Tweaks
  • Increased combat xp gain on attack success from 10 to 25
  • Increased combat xp gain on attack miss from 7 to 15
  • Increased combat xp gain on kill from 100 to 225
  • Decreased eating duration from 30m to 24m
  • Decreased auto repair threshhold from 75% to 40%
  • Increased size of research queue from 5 to 10
  • Increased Socials distance from 6.5m to 10m
  • Threshold for "Old Equipment" warning from 40% to 20%.
  • Increased the numbr of times you can salvage/scrap various debris by about 50%.


WARNING
This mod changes game constants. As of the game update in November 2023 changing some of these values is not compatible with existing save games. Though this mod does not currently have that issue, I can't predict the future for the impact of game updates.

If you enable this mod you may not be able to load previous save games while it is enabled. Conversely, you probably should not disable this mod in the middle of a playthrough, to be safe.

Oh nice, that's interesting. It didn't add extra breakthrough techs in the existing save though, but that was to be expected. I'll start a new game tomorrow. Thanks again!

This mod actually can be enabled/disabled without issue mid-save. At the moment.

My warning is there because some of the game constants (specifically the research related one) do cause issues and I wanted to cover my bases. It's basically a warning that is not needed (at least at this point in time).

Wow, this is nice. I discovered it a bit late, and started a new game today. But I only had 4 breakthrough techs, and see here that there should have been 5 as I suspected. Bad sign, so good reason to restart so I can try this mod, I guess! :lunar2019grinningpig::steamthumbsup:
