Humanoid's rocket propulsion systems pack

!!! MOD REQUIRES MATH'S ANIMATION ENGINE !!!

This mod adds 9 unique blocks for both large grid and small grid, 25 new block models with animations, LODs and BS models, majority of them are thrusters.

In order to build these, a new production step was introduced by bringing you a brand new piece of heavy machinery - manufacturer block. This marvelous piece of engineering (and horrible 3d model) is required to make new type of components called "advanced components". These 3 new components - structural plating, turbopump and construction framework are made of multiple vanilla components combined. Keep in mind that manufacturer block can only make advanced components, you will still need a vanilla assembler to make vanilla parts.

Some thrusters have animated heat. This effect is purely visual and shouldn't affect your gameplay

Another big addition is a fusion reactor, fusion drive and fusion power cell system. These blocks will only work if connected to Fusion reactor properly and consume hydrogen as fuel - power cell converts it into power and fusion drive is a strong thruster for both atmospheric and vacuum flight. These blocks use your hydrogen supply much more efficiently than any other block in the game.

Finally, this pack includes reworked an slightly buffed versions of RCS thrusters and retractable thrusters from my other packs. They have different subtypeIDs and should not conflict with teach other, but it's still not recommended to use these mods together.


Full list of new blocks:

- Advanced components manufacturer - IS REQUIRED TO MAKE NEW PARTS, large grid only, animated production cycle
- S-4 RCS thruster (1x1) - 8 variants, both large grid and small grid
- R-01A "Sparrow" retractable thruster (1x2x2) - both large grid and small grid, is animated
- R-5 "Spark" rocket thruster (3x3) - 2 variants, small grid only, has animated heat
- R-20 "ZAC" rocket thruster (2x2) - LG only, has animated heat
- R-33 "Dragon" heavy rocket thruster (3x3) - 2 variants, large grid only, has animated heat
- R-70 "Falcon" heavy rocket thruster (5x5) - large grid only, has animated heat
- X-12 "Hius" Fusion drive (5x5) - REQUIRES FUSION REACTOR TO WORK, large grid only, has animated emissives
- Fusion Power Cell - REQUIRES FUSION REACTOR TO WORK, large grid only, has animated emissives
- Fusion Reactor - large grid only, animated, plays animation whenever it has access to hydrogen (due to technical reasons it's actually a thruster with 0 thrust)


The mod is still WIP since I'm planning to add even more blocks to it eventually. Also some models might get reworked as well.

Hi,
For retractable H2 thrusters, seems there is a need for a modded component that is not part of this mod?

Turbopumps ? (doeas not appear in assembler)

the problem does not come from the framework, I am only reporting what I have noticed.
I will follow the development of your mod with interest but what it attracted me to is not possible due to these incompatibilities. I wanted to use your thrusters to have maneuvering thrusters (with white smoke projection). I will find another solution.
To be completely clear (I am afraid I was not) I only want to give feedback on what I have noticed. The semi-incompatibility with hydrogen plus is not your fault. That is not what I meant.
And I wanted to point out the incompatibility with function expansion so that you know that if a tier mod changes the color of the thruster flames a CTD can occur. If ever another mod does the same, you are aware

Thruster FX is not my mod, it's Mexpex's. Also it is completely optional - you can load the mod without this mod and it would work fine

In the case of function expansion, it can be a lead to see if your thruster effect is not too rigid in its integration. Or the heat accumulation effect that poses a problem.
The game does not crash with Animated retractable thruster, modular RCS and the simplified version of this mod. Which makes me say that it is this effect that poses a problem for Function expansion.
If the flame effect and the heat effect are linked, the problem may come from there?
But that's no problem for Hydrogen Plus, the effects of this mod are just overwritten by yours.

Sorry for the wall of words. Good luck with the development of this mod.

On this mod, your flame effect (superb by the way) replaces all the effects of Hydrogen Plus. But does not seem to cause any other problems.
On the simplified version of this mod, as well as the two other mods I mentioned earlier, the added effects do not appear. I tell you, but it's rather on the Hydrogen plus side that it must be "corrected". Maybe you can contact them to see a patch being created on their side? That could be interesting.

I'm posting this on this mod, but some or all of what I'm going to say impacts the thruster mods included in this pack (animated retractable thruster, modular RCS thrusters).<

(I think) Your thruster FX is incompatible with "Function Expansion"

In the first case, a CTD occurs. Function expansion allows you to change the color of the thruster flame. Boom.

Thank you so much for this brilliant mod, it has become an absolute essential for me. The only thing I can think of that's missing, is a simple cylindrical version of the current connecting pipe, for aesthetics. :steamthumbsup:

@wingmaster yes, they have round ports that need to be connected together (screenshot number 3). In future I might add some pipes for easier connection because regular conveyor pipes won’t work there" - Yeah I'm finding this out the hard way, I can't do a straight shot form reactor to engine in what I was building. The reactors may just stay as eye candy but I can't use them for the intended purpose without being able to connect more than just two engines straight shot back to two reactors.:steamsad:
