Description
Play Halo Combat Evolved like it's 1999!

This is a pretty straight forward mod that replaces weapons, vehicles, a.i., etc with the digsite mac 99, e3 99, and a few e3 00 tags!

I did not want to change core gameplay too much so most encounters are the same as they would be but with some I've added our friend the slug man to some fights and I hope he gives a nice extra challange with that darn particle beam!

- Marine colors have been altered to look more like the e3/beta marines

- Elites have been replaced with the 1999 elite and I tried messing around with changing their colors for different variants but it didn't work out too well so they're all the same color. Keepin it simple. Corpse elite is still the old corpse with the open chest in the c10 cinematic.

- Spartans have been added and they act like marine majors but with health and shield boosts and slight damage and rate of fire increases but they are far from being able to change core gameplay!

- Hud color changed to yellow.

- Vehicles. Okay so warthogs are now the e3 warthogs and rocket hogs have been added here and there. The scorpion remains in the game as there is an image floating around from back in the day with some 1999 cyborgs and what? what's that in the background? A scorpion tank! So I left it in so you can catch a ride or give a ride to your buddies still. But alas! the stealth tank is in as well, just like 20 feet next to the scorpion... so choose yo ride. Kestrel has now been added to c40 in replacement of the fly away banshee.

- 3rd person! Well unless you're using a pistol or sniper! Aiming in 3rd person is kind of strange and can be frustrating at times but I'm sure you will adapt to it. I've noticed your player's body has to be fully out of cover in order to make proper shots so sometimes in narrow hallways you might want to switch to a sniper or pistol! And looking down, the projectile likes to angle to the left a lot and I've tried a bunch of different ways to correct this but I kept running into other issues so I apologize but it's still playable!

- Scenery has been fumbled with. Sky boxes switched up with spasm skies. Trees have been also switched up with former 99 trees on TSC map.

- All weapon models have been replaced with mac 99 models and digsite weapons have replaced a few. Shotguns, snipers, and rocket launchers remain the same base gun but the models have all been changed. E3 00 digiste pistol added and the classic magnum is still there with its first person animation. Sniper does not have animations. Few mac 99 weapons with their 3D reticles have been thrown in but not all of them due to some being absolutely game breaking lol. 3D reticles are still blue for some reason but I'll keep messing with it.

- Weapons like the e3 00 pistol, assault rifles, and energy sword have been tweaked so they act more balanced. Assault rifles have slightly less grenade ammo and do slightly less damage as they're so accurate and ammo count is less than half of what it is in the original game. Energy swords should act more like energy swords. E3 00 pistol does only a little more damage than the regular magnum but less overall ammo, but is silent and has 2 levels of zoom.

- Major grunts and jackals have plasma rifles to add a bit more challange.

- Few things like muzzle flashes have been messed with so they look more like 1999 muzzle flashes. (big flash)

And I think that's it for this mod, again it is a really simple and straightforward mod that lets you play with (most) of the classic lost gems from a different era of halo.

Where are reticles to the new guns I only get a black square anyway to fix this?

@not snake hey if someone has figured out how to fix the bullets not aligning with the crosshair, can you comment a link to that, thanks.

Nevermind, I figured it out! The ModInfo.json just needs to be updated, it currently says under "MaxAppVersion" that it goes up to version 3385, changing it to 3495 allows it to work with the latest version of MCC and I didn't notice any issues with a quick test of Silent Cartographer. :winter2019happyyul:

I'm dying to play this, I've been wanting someone to just add all of the Macworld 1999 stuff to the regular campaign, third person camera included, but I'm not seeing this when I check under Halo CE's mod campaign options? Am I doing something wrong?

Bro, please make a first person version, the camera glitching out from being in hallways is making me sick, and why make only certain weapons first person
