OCvC Władysław Anders represents a different approach to ships that fall between cruisers and battleships in terms of displacement. Unlike the PB1 class, it was built for standard line battles rather than solo raids. The main difference lies in its armament—similar in number but significantly larger in caliber—though it sacrifices some top speed compared to its predecessors.

Later in its service, it received upgraded internal systems and modernized ammunition.
