Midtown Horde Survival [Summer MapJam 2023]

Unturned MapJams are community hosted, officially backed contests in which participants have ~one month to create a themed map in an attempt to win custom gold, silver and bronze weapon skins of their choosing.

PREFACE: So I learned about this Mapjam with only 1 week remaining since I've been getting back into Unturned over the past month. I've pretty much have been spending all my freetime working on this project.

Anyways, Unturned holds a very special place in my heart in general. A friend of mine introduced me back in Unturned 2.0. There's plenty of things that are Nostalgic to me about Unturned however one rises above all; Horde Mode. For some bizarre reason I've had a fascination with this abandoned mode for years. I remember when I was younger and more skittish feeling a rush when playing these maps especially Downtown Survival, which was one of the main inspirations for this map. Sadly it seems that most Horde Maps no longer function due to newer updates and would require the original creators to come back for an overhaul. Seeing as I have the original files saved into my cloud I though I may as well perform some necromancy. Horde maps are pretty small and what I thought to be an achievable goal with the ~1 week time frame I had.

Map is 100% Vanilla

HOW TO PLAY: Players start on one of two building which are connected by a tower. Zombies have instant aggro so there is very little time to mess around before they arrive. WAAAAY back when Horde Mode came out you were automatically equipped with the Colt/1911 however that no longer happens so there is a weapon crate that will grant you a FREE 1911 and subsequent purchases will grant extra magazines. Hurting and killing zombies will earn you points, and you keep your points after death. Bonus points for headshots. After killing the last zombie there will be around 5-10 seconds before the next wave begins. Zombies become tougher after each wave and more zombies will spawn with each wave.

Attachments can spawn all around the map in either fallen wardrobes or shipping containers.
