Lockpicking Tools

Description
Want to spice up Kenshi's lockpicking?
Well now you can with a new item: Lockpicking Tools!

This mod adds an item called Lockpicking Tools, which are primarily sold at the Shinobi Thieves, but can also be found in random bars as well. This item is functionally identical to Tools, but is smaller and can be placed in the Belt slot. Functionally, Lockpicking Tools still need to be in your main inventory for them to work (they do not work out of backpacks either), so the belt equip is mostly for the roleplay of "hiding" the tools away. Besides, if you were picking a lock in real life and you had tools on your belt, you'd have to take them off your belt to use them!

Lockpicking Tools is inspired by Picklock Item! (In belt slot!!). That mod REPLACES the original Tools item, which works, but I wanted a completely new item, even if the functionality is identical. If you're interested, that mod is linked below: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2806492644

This mod is best paired with Lockpicking rebalanced. In vanilla Kenshi, Tools are rarely used, as most locks are easy to lockpick with low skill. This mod makes locks much harder to open, which in turn means you want to carry some form of Tools in your squad. The mod is located at the link below:

What's also cool about that mod is that you can break any lock with strength! In vanilla Kenshi, some locks require 270 strength levels to break, which is impossible to achieve. With Lockpicking rebalanced, the toughest lock requires 90 strength to break instead, which is difficult to achieve, but still possible.

This should be compatible with most mods. The only change to was adding the new Lockpicking Tools item and placing them in vendor lists, but since the mod is adding new values, it should still be compatible with any economy/vendor mods.

If you enjoy my mod, feel free to hit that 👍

@c0pa79 Sadly this is not possible. The Kenshi FCS does not let you modify item functions.

would it be possible that as opposed to tools, this does not make noise but for balancing reasons does a worse job?
Ideally tools should be independant of picking skill, but lockpicking tools should just be an increase to your picking skill.

This is a brilliant idea for a mod. Finally something that doesn't replace anything in the game lol. Thanks for this!
