The fourth and final intelligent species to evolve on the planet, the Pentapods are truly alien creatures with the only trait even remotely resembling the original Kwyex being the detailed partial exoskeleton on the front of their bodies. Pentapods decorate themselves and each other with strange alien accessories. The more of these things a Pentapod has on them, the more important they are.

Since they originate from a planet that an unknown being brought already-complex life to rather than one where it started from the bottom with unicellular life, the Pentapods never discovered any fossils older than the billion-year-old Kwyex fossils, the "desert dragons", as they call them. This led them to believe that the Kwyex were all-powerful beings that could create worlds at will, and eventually got curious as to what it was like to live on them, descended onto the surface of the planets, and you get what happens next. ...Yeah, no. The Kwyex are just Kwyex.

Pentapods, despite the dying sun turning the once-lush Planet Kwy into a burning desert world with only a few small bodies of water and only a handful of species remaining on it, became very technologically advanced. So much, in fact, that they could leave the planet behind for better, more lush ones! When the Pentapods first traveled to other planets, they were confused as to why there were no Kwyex there. However, as time went on, they discovered that they were the exception, not the rule. The legends still remain, though.
