In the vast panorama of galactic history, few instances struck as deep a chord of dread and disquiet as the emergence of the CMR Series Weaponry (CMR-S1 and CMR-F1). Edge Dynamic is a notable supplier throughout the civilized galaxy, and always hungering to further their competitive edge, though not always through strictly legal, or moral ways. These creations, The Charged Mechnite Rifle prototypes, were a manifestation of the line between brilliance and madness, and are now the legacy of Citizens Edge Dynamics' covert laboratories.

Mechanites are a tightly regulated technology due to their self replicating and unstable nature. Their application in CMRs couldn't be anything other than perilous. Far from just maiming or obliterating, these mechanites activate and augment a victims full biological potential, something no human body is capable of handling. The result is nothing short of soul rending, agonizing pain as the brain gets overwhelmed with stimulus.

In an era marked by rapid advancements and intricate strategies, the notion of a weapon whose primary function was the perpetuation of raw agony stood out as an anathema, a vile transgression of all ethical and moral boundaries. Their very existence was deemed an abomination, a potential conduit for atrocities on an unprecedented scale. Even in the theatre of war, where moral lines often blur and the unthinkable becomes commonplace, the CMR series was universally recognized as a grievous betrayal of the foundational moral codes that govern society and the ethics of warfare. The coreworlds' decree was swift and unyielding. Every trace of this abomination had to be expunged, and its creators brought to task.

Yet, in the chaos, a shimmer of darkness eluded capture. Prototypes of the CMR series, infused with mechanisms that pushed the boundaries of science and morality, were smuggled out, just as the citadel of darkness crumbled under the righteous might of the coreworld forces.





Can be added mid save?

Yes, each weapon would merely be added to a weapons “pool” that traders pull from when generating their inventory stock.


Can be removed from a save?

Yes, if you have the “perfectly generic item” mod, or destroy / delete all the CMR rifles before uninstalling, there should be no issues to my knowledge. If you do not have these, you might experience a one-time crash or error-logging. To my knowledge there is no risk of permanently corrupted savefiles in vanilla, but i cannot ascertain how this mod might interact in longer mod lists. Our current recommendation is to follow the generally accepted guidelines of making a save file before you remove the mod.

How do i get these weapons?

The CMR-S1 and CMR-F1 can currently be obtained via traders, or as quest rewards.

Is it CE compatible?

There is no official support for combat extended. An official patch with tweaked values to fit with our theme and design will be released towards the end of our content roadmap. CE autopatchers do however exist, but note that the weapons would lose all coherent balancing, and might become either under- or overpowered, and certain features might break.


Can you make X thing for the mod?

Suggestions are greatly appreciated, but please keep them in the dedicated discussion section on the steam workshop. While we make no promises on implementing any changes or suggestions, if the suggestion is both feasible, interesting and would fit with our current content, it would be heavily considered when producing new content.


1.5/1.4/1.3/1.2/1.1?

Due to the content of our current mods, it should be able to survive several version changes before requiring an update. We do however not promise support, updates or bug fixes for versions earlier than the latest rimworld update.

This is really fun with the Mechanite Diseases mod which lets you stabilize mechanite diseases. :)
