Getting new levels 🔗
Project Arrhythmia comes with 5 preview levels playable by navigating to Story Mode -> Story Demo -> New Game -> Yes -> <confirm players>.

If you wish to play community levels, visit Project Arrhythmia Steam Workshop page. To get new levels you must subscribe to them, wait for Steam to finish downloading the levels, and then in Project Arrhythmia navigate to Settings -> Reload Custom Levels. Now they will appear in your Arcade library (Play Custom Levels -> <confirm players>).
How to play levels 🔗
Project Arrhythmia is a game where the player must avoid obstacles and get to the end of the track.

Level completion progress can be seen at the bottom of the screen, indicated by a line with a start, end, checkpoints in the middle and the current track position indicated by a square.

Players control little squares (referred to as "Nanobots") with trails that indicate remaining health. Typically Nanobots start with 3 health and with each hit they lose a part of their trail until none left.
If all Nanobots are out of health, they go back to the last checkpoint to retry a part of the level.

Most objects in levels hit Nanobots.
Some objects are half-transparent. Usually they don't hit Nanobots and are used to warn the player about upcoming danger.

Sometimes the players are expected to perform a dash (boost) move. A dashing Nanobot is invincible for a very short amount of time, allowing them to "jump" over objects.
Players can perform a short dash by tapping the dash button/key and a long dash by holding the dash button/key.

About the lag... 🔗
Currently available versions of Project Arrhythmia suffer from a lot of lag in most levels.
The upcoming update for the game is promised to be very well optimised.

A few things could help with performance:
  • Enabling V-Sync or, if available, setting FPS limit to be as close to your screen refresh rate as possible. (V-Sync limits game FPS to your screen refresh rate. Less frames = less heat = less thermal throttling = smoother experience)
  • Installing a third-party Project Arrhythmia mod called Catalyst (installation instructions[github.com]) which aims to improve performance. (The mod rewrites a few problematic systems that cause a lot of lag)
  • If you're running the game on a very low-end device (such as laptop) it may be beneficial to turn off fullscreen mode and change the game resolution (the lower, the better). (Lower resolution = less fragments to render = less time spent drawing = more FPS)
Making your own levels 🔗
The editor is not available in the default version of the game. Refer to this guide on how to switch to a beta branch with an editor.

First of all, before making a level make sure the music you are going to use is allowed for use in Project Arrhythmia, otherwise your level may be hidden by moderators.
You're able to look for allowed music by joining the Project Arrhythmia Discord server[discord.gg] and browsing or searching the #verified-artists Discord channel. Alternatively, if you're unable to use Discord for whatever reason, you can refer to this community spreadsheet[docs.google.com] (not updated since May 1st 2022).

This guide will not teach you how to use the editor. It is recommended that you first watch all videos in this playlist, then experiment with some ideas in the editor and ask for help as needed either in #editor-discussion Discord channel or a Steam Discussions post.

Subscribe to levels on Steam Workshop with the green button that says ‘Subscribe’, and reopen the game. The subscribed levels will appear in the ‘Custom Logs’ menu (‘Custom Levels’)

Hungege, you subscribe to the levels on Steam Workshop like before. To reload the level list in the game, you either restart it, or put any garbage text into search for the Reload button to appear. It's quite a bit confusing at the moment

Is there a app that allows you to play the steam games you already have on a xbox 1. I don't wanna have to download it on my xbox.
