Description
Vesta fluffs her way into combat! Her magical flaming fists are sure to blow her opponents away. Vesta is designed to be both casual and tournament-friendly, as she was made with the intention of fighting on even ground with the Base Roster cast.

SPECIALS:

NEUTRAL SPECIAL: FIRE PUNCH
Vesta charges up a fiery punch that pushes her forward to knock enemies offstage! She can use it to quickly get an enemy off her, as an edgeguarding tool, or as a finishing move for a combo! It has four tiers of charge, each stronger than the last.

SIDE SPECIAL: ORANGE MISSILE
Vesta, using her flames, launches herself forward with a slight jump. Use it in the air for a sideways boost. The longer you charge this attack, the farther and faster she'll go! There's also a random 1/8 chance of a devastating Misfire!

UP SPECIAL: SUPER FLUFF PUNCH
Vesta can recover vertically with a fiery punch upwards. But should the opponent be uncomfortably close to her at the start of the attack, it unleashes a powerful blast that can send them flying!

DOWN SPECIAL: FIREWALL
Vesta slams down her claws, summoning a wall of fire that deals lingering damage the longer the opponent is caught in it! These flames can reflect projectiles and act as Vesta?s sole reflecting move.

SMASHES:

UP SMASH: FIRE CLAW
Vesta claws up at enemies above her, knocking them into the sky. This attack will whiff against short grounded opponents, so please keep that in mind.

FORWARD SMASH: FIRE CLAP
Vesta leans forward with her magic claws, clasping an explosion against her opponents. This move has a 1/8 chance of unleashing a larger explosion, dealing slightly more damage and knockback over a greater area, but pushes Vesta back with slightly more endlag. This version of her attack can also push her off platforms or ledges.

DOWN SMASH: FIRE SWIPE
Vesta points her palms outwards, shooting columns of flames horizontally. This move has a blindspot if the opponent is directly on top of Vesta herself.

AERIALS:

NEUTRAL AIR: Vesta rapidly spins in the air, using her tail for a multi-hit attack that can be used as a combo starter or a continuation of a combo. Using it offstage can likely result in an SD.
UP AIR: Vesta swings both of her fists up at any opponents above her. It's a great finishing move at the end of a combo.
FORWARD AIR: Vesta swipes one of her claws at an opponent in front of her, sending them flying. It has greater knockback at her claw?s nails.
DOWN AIR: Vesta dives downwards like a fox. This is both an approach option and a combo starter. Using it offstage can likely result in an SD.
BACK AIR: Vesta, flipping backwards, smacks her opponents with her tail. The knockback is higher at the tip of her tail.

TILTS:

UP TILT: Vesta somersaults and uses her tail to hit opponents above her! This move makes her move backwards slightly with each use.
FORWARD TILT: Vesta can swing her tail at opponents, knocking them away.
DOWN TILT: Vesta spins around and smacks her opponents with her tail! It's a great combo starter.


GRABS:

Vesta's grab has a very long reach, but has a slow startup.
FORWARD THROW: Vesta shakes the opponent before tossing them away.
BACK THROW: Vesta swings the opponent around before chucking them.
UP THROW: Vesta tosses the opponent upwards behind her.
DOWN THROW: Vesta slams the opponent down in front of her.

OTHER NOTES + TIPS

Vesta was originally made using Kaien as a template. I have since replaced that version with a completely new rig made from scratch with new visuals, stats, and effects. Doing so has reduced Vesta's character file size by 60 megabytes.
There are no hurtboxes for Vesta's tail. It is simply too fluffy to have hurtboxes.

UPDATES: July 17th, 2024 V2.0.5

Vesta now has a new visual cue for her Neutral-B charge and Ultra Charge, where she gains a fire effect based on how much Neutral-B is charged. Side-B now no longer has free control over movement when using it, as it now commits to the direction and speed. Buffed slightly the 1-in-8 Side-Strong with 0.5 more base knockback. Updated animations for Down-B and Up-Strong. Updated grab locations on Down-Throw to appear more natural.

Nerfed Side-B significantly and Ultra slightly. Side-B's "cancel" frames upon hitting an opponent have increased from 8 frames to 14 frames. Side-B now takes 10 frames to charge for at least Tier 1 of Side-B, making normal Side-B a 14 frame move.

Vesta Ultra has been nerfed slightly. Vesta's Ultra now lasts 3 seconds instead of 4.

Vesta has a bone for every single finger still, just not 3 per finger now so her file size is now 100 MB smaller because of it haha
