don't worry the model D (already work in progress) will be 43km/h with a load of 1 tonne!

Can you maybe do at least 25 km/h? 🙏
Kalmoire  [author] 7 Feb, 2024 @ 2:14am
I might buff it to 21km/h because apparently its speed was 18-20 VËRSTS per hour, not kilometres...
working with imperial russian measurements is so confusing at times...

The railway is my preferred route, but it takes a long time to build when starting on an empty map and you still have an issue with “last mile delivery”, not to mention when playing on an island map without border customs, only ships are a source of delivery for anything early on.

Advice: Rely on trains early on for more bulk disposal/supply. a railway waste dump, a railway oil tank (I think you can even use a refueling station), a railway covered storage.
All of those will be infinitely better (and historically correct except for waste) for your city than sending trucks or traction engines to the border checkpoint!

Trying to stick to real world specs is understandable. The thing is that with early starts (like 1900-1920), the game just drags on and on, due to very slow speed of vehicles, which makes it unnecessarily slow. To balance things a bit and make it more playable (less sitting around and waiting for things to be delivered) increasing the speed a bit is a huge difference (IMHO without significant sacrifice in realism, etc.) I really appreciate you taking my feedback into consideration and totally understand if you want to keep things as they are. ;)

Sidenote, I'm making progress on the next Russo-Balt pack which will include lighter, faster vehicles. But the type T is fine being slow as it's a heavy load truck.

I'll keep balancing them like mocma's White, Brockway and Republic trucks.
Faster vehicles unlock in the 20s and I don't feel the need to use cheaty vehicles as a balancing point.

And that's a high estimate,
a lot of them went like 5km/h max...

The problem I see is that european steam traction engines in reality had a speed of around 10 km/h
They're just unreasonably fast compared to anything heavy on the early start workshop except the Mack (which has its own issue), hencewhy I don't use them in my playthroughs.
