Ikrandraco II MAHG

A tough, contra-rotating bladed attack helicopter, the successor to the by-now utterly outdated Ikrandraco gunship; and one eminently capable of living up to that legacy. With a rack of sixteen radar-guided missiles and an equally potent autocannon loaded with anti-armour rounds, the Ikrandraco II is a powerful aerial weapons platform, with the high mobility needed to deliver its devastating payload wherever it is called for. Its twin interceptor pods provide a limited defence against anti-aircraft missiles, one supplemented by thick glass and heavy armour (for a helicopter) to create an aircraft capable of engaging even under heavy ground fire, and one not left utterly helpless against hostile aircraft. Curiously, the cockpit is accessed by an unconventional cupola design, one shared with many of the Coalition's ground based vehicles. Whilst this makes entry and egress whilst the blades are in operation near impossible, it has the added benefit of providing considerable protection to the aircraft pilot, a luxury not afforded to the gunner seated further forward in the large glass canopy; the aircraft is configured to allow weapon controls to be taken over by its commander as a result.
