i've already made myself pretty clear as to why immortal is flat out overpowered post paragons. so i got nothing more to add.
as to substance abuser dying... can't say i've had that happen ngl
I'm asking about your justification because I'm planning on making a mod like Species Diversity which includes some specific custom traits for Elves and Dark Elves, so if you had a reason which I could agree with, then I'd probably use that reasoning for my future mod. But it seems like we just don't agree about the value of the modifiers.
My regular non-elf empires can have a permanent heir who will never inherit, so I don't value immortality very highly, and Elf immortality is worse than vanilla because of the event which ensures Substance Abusers (and similar) always die -- in vanilla, an immortal could ignore that negative trait, but with Elves of Stellaris installed all immortals with those negative traits are forced to die.
Anyway, didn't want to come off as hostile, I was just curious.
putting what's basically 3,5 traits into a single trait is in itself, extremely valueable.
even if the "3.5 traits in 1" was overpowered as is, then yes, immortality is easily worth that. venerable is 4 points in vanilla, for +80 years. complete immortality is EASY worth 1,5 points extra.
i'm not exactly sure why you're trying to argue with this, you're free to not use this submod.
immortality was strong already, post paragons it's overpowered. thinking it's not would only show a lack of knowledge on balance
The current package is +0 which means the modders felt immortality was worth +3.5 points.
So you think immortality is worth +5.5 trait points?
on that note, repeatable spamming isn't exactly an argument because it means you have to keep researching that instead of being able to focus on other things, and god help you if you have other tech mods involved as well...
as to the -10% growth and 15% CG, yes those are penalties, but this is basically 3 traits rolled into a singular pick, which is already very very strong. instead of having to use multiple picks for balancing out positives/negatives, you get everything in one package.
as a 2 trait cost pick, this trait is still absolutely worth it, by far.
Why do you think the basic trait is worth 2 points?
