Synqathic might not look like much, only being a little over a meter long and living in small groups in forests, but DO NOT attempt interaction with them. Don't even approach them. They might seem cute, but they are perhaps the most terrifying lifeform in the entire universe. They spend their time standing completely still, seemingly harmless, but if something gets too close, it will lash out with its antenna far faster than anything could possibly have time to react to. It then attaches to and fuses with the unfortunate trespasser, resulting in the creation of a horrifying entity that is just painful to look at. As time goes on, though, the Synqathic will slowly decay. When that happens, it forces its host to stop, and then releases some chemical or energy from the spots on its sides that cause both the Synqathic and its host to slowly melt away, first their feathers or fur (if they have any), then their skin, their muscles, and then their bones, leaving behind various disembodied organs that soon explode. More Synqathic will be produced from the liquefied remains. Synqathic are impossible to kill. The only way for one to die is if it cannot find a host within 30 years. If not, it will begin its decay process with no host, resulting in the production of no new Synqathic. They are from my mind-story "BYWD", short for "Beyond Your Wildest Dreams", which perfectly describes the aliens seen in the story.
