Description

Adds the Republic of Nigeria under president Olusegun Obasanjo to the game. Nigeria is the single most populous nation in Africa and its largest economy - often called the 'Giant of Africa' its a nation that has, and continuous to have, an outsized influence on the world around it throughout history. Historically a centre of vast trade networks which linked the bustling centres of the Gulf of Guinea to the dusty entropots of the Sahara, Nigeria saw the rise and fall of great Kingdoms, Cities and Empires before the nation fell to British imperialism in the late 19th century. The nation rose from this ignominious destiny however, and in the twentieth century - despite wars, coups and internecine violence - became a cultural hub of literature, cinema, music and art. Today, Nigeria is one of Africa's greatest and most influential cultural centres. Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry, sits behind Bollywood and Hollywood as the third largest film industry on earth. Meanwhile Nigerian artists and writers, such as the great Chinua Achebe, are household names with an enormous impact on African - and world - literature. Finally, the infectious Afrobeats sound, pioneered by greats like Fela Kuti, has travelled the world - with Nigerian artists appearing alongside the most famous world musicians and dominating the African music scene to this day. Truly, Nigeria is a nation deserving the title 'the Giant of Africa'.

UA: We Hold Together, We Fall Apart
Whenever a city not celebrating We Love the King Day grows, cities celebrating We Love the King Day have it extended. Receive a free Great Work of Writing, Music or Art slot whenever a city reaches 10 citizens, and a free We Love the King Day at 15.

UB: Nollywood Studio (Garden)
Provides no base increase to Great People Generation. Instead, has a slot for a Nollywood Director specialist which provides +2 happiness when filled and a random Cultural Great Person Point in the Capital.

UU: Ezugwu (Tank)
Weaker than the tank, but does not require oil to be trained. Instead, is slightly stronger for every unit of oil you own, even if it is being traded away.

Adds the Republic of Nigeria under its fifth and twelfth president, Olusegun Obasanjo, to the game. Nigeria is a civ which looks at the choice between population and city count and asks, why not both?

Nigeria truly lives up to its reputation as the Giant of Africa, earning bonus growth simply for keeping your other cities growing! By focusing on your citizens needs, and trading away the bountiful resources you can acquire in your ever growing republic, you can leverage Nigeria's unique ability into near continuous periods of WLTKD, keeping your cities growing at a tremendous pace! Use this growth to aquire more Great Work slots, which should be no problem to fill thanks to Nigeria's unique Nollywood Studio UB. By sending its Great People points to the capital, the Studio provides huge benefits to wide play - the more cities you have, the more you can supercharge your cultural output and ensure that your many citizens truly have something to celebrate! As you cruise towards a cultural victory in the late game, be sure to deploy a massive fleet of Ezugwu to keep your empire safe, something that should be easy given you won't be limited by oil! If you do have oil, however, your army can benefit both from its huge size AND its combat strength! Keep expanding to snatch up those oil spots and you'll truly be a force to be reckoned with.

This is a fun civ, but I'm a little confused that their CulDiv culture type is Classical and not Western African?
