HOW TO CHANGE EYE TEXTURES?

here's a quick tutorial:


1. Right-click on your model in "Animation Set Editor" tab and click "Add Override Materials"

2. Right-click on the model again, click "Show in Element Viewer" -> "Model", it will open the "Element Viewer" tab

3. Click on the "+" next to "materials" to expand it, find the eyes material and expand it

4. Right-click on the eye material, click "Add Attribute" -> "string", type in "$iris" and click "ok"

5. Type in the file path of the texture, for example: "BKsplatTEX\eye_textures\splatoon_eyetex_sunset"
(it's the file path after the materials folder, SFM only needs that, otherwise it will probably not work), don't forget to press Enter!


Congratulations, now you know how to change the eye texture!

HOW TO CHANGE EYE DILATION?

regular (splatoon player model) eyes have dilation set to 1 by default
(Splatoon 3 player models with multi-colored eyes have dilation set to 0.75, because of the texture difference)


1. (Follow the previous 1-3 steps if you haven't already)

2. Right-click on the eye material, click "Add Attribute" -> "float", then type in "$dilation" and click "ok"

3. Type in any value between 0 and 1 (including 0 and 1 of course)

(for eye textures that have shaped pupils it's best to set the dilation to 0.75, but you can change it however you like it)
