SA15M5 Stoat Dagger

The SA15M5 Stoat Dagger is a experimental SPAA system developed based on the Stoat chassis. It was initially built in response to provide anti-air coverage to lighter units at a lower echelon level. Four total prototypes were produced and was met with mixed results but it did just about meet all requirements. The vehicle is unarmored unlike the standard Stoat to save weight as the missile system proved heavy. The army decided to trial run it with a low rate production. After 32 more were built to outfit one air defense regiment; it was canceled due to poor performance. As a result a total of 36 were made including the prototypes. The 36 vehicles were placed into long term storage in the reserves. After some time in storage, 1 in 4 vehicles were brought out and modified and named the Stoat Buckler. Ultimately, that did not lead to anything significant and the vehicles remained in reserves. It did however result in the SA15 being assigned to the only air defense reserve regiment in the entire army. The vehicle was simple and easy to use. Anyone with a standard driver's license could drive the vehicle easily. While the weapon system were basically a glorified MANPADS making training exceptionally short. So it was decided that it could be used by call-up reservists who may not have a lot of time to suddenly train on the latest anti-air weapon systems. Despite this potential use case, it did not revive the program. Instead it was listed as one of the vehicles simple enough to be manufactured by automotive factories after rapidly converted for military productions under wartime.
