Like the Bordurian emperor himself, the Imperial Bordurian army can trace its lineage right back to the Fallen Empire. Traditionally the senior service in the Imperial armed forces, it nonetheless suffered from many decades of under funding due to the ever increasing expenditure on aerial warships, even during the long War of Kingdoms. That all changed in the early years of the Great Imperial War. Following the military reorganisation brought in by Grand Marshal Prince Ludwig von Rothvenfells, large mechanised legged war machines, designed to support the infantry in mass wave attacks, became increasingly common. Built by Krapp Munitions Works, 'Bertha' was one of the first designs put into production.
