With Smissmas on the horizon, Dell decided to not only take a few days, but also his overalls, off.

a way of 'fixing' the issue in gmod i found was the lighting origin tool, just setting the model its attached to as the lighting origin fixes it in terms of posing it. but in terms of actually fixing it i have zero idea

Sadly i don't have the skill to fix that. either someone with the skill would have to fix it, or the creator themselves have to update the cosmetic.

yeah you need to make the origin higher up like at chest level to fix the lighting issue

I think the lighting problem might be caused by the origin point of the cosmetic model being a bit too low, causing its lighting origin to be underground when the model it's bonemerged to is on the ground. That's just my guess.
