With the need for a dedicated partol, escort & enforcement craft for station, fleet &
planetary installations.
ESDF decided to refit the already available Grafton class assault frigate for their need and re-classing it as a patrol gunboat, while still following the design idea for the grafton of being easy to build, repair & maintain and as such the Daring class was born.
