Issras Recruitment Guild

Description

Welcome at the Issras Recruitment Guild !

Here you can find new recruits from the 4 corners of the Kenshi world !

Presentation of the Mod

I'm pleased to present my new mod, Issras Recruitment Guild, this mod adds a new faction that will allow you to recruit recruits from different factions of the game, recruiting recruits by race or with a particular skill.

The Issras Recruitment Guild has a HQ located approximately between Shem and Flats Lagoon (you can see it in the pictures) and 3 outposts scattered around the world of Kenshi, which I leave to you to discover by yourselves.

You can recruit units from the following factions: (I've only added a certain number of factions for the moment, but I'll certainly be adding more in the future, so don't hesitate to make suggestions)

  • The Holy Nation
  • The Shek Kingdom
  • The United Cities
  • The Western Hive
  • Skeletons
  • Shinobi Thieves
  • Crab Raiders

The recruits you recruit to the IRG will have lower stats than the equivalent units of the factions, for example if you recruit a Paladin to the IRG, the recruit will have slightly lower stats than a Holy Nation Paladin. On the other hand, there will be no change for weaker units, such as Holy Servent. Their armor will be at Shoddy Grade and their weapon Ancient, although there will be a small percentage chance that armor will be at a higher grade if you're lucky.

You can also recruit recruits by race, they will be naked and will have all their stats at 1, handy if you only want recruits of a certain race, for a hiver only, for example :

  • Hiver
  • Greenlander
  • Scorchlander
  • Shek
  • Skeleton

You can also recruit new recruits with specific skills, and you can choose their race :

  • Field Medic
  • Engineer
  • Robotics
  • Science
  • Weapon Smith
  • Armour Smith
  • Crossbow Smith
  • Labouring
  • Farming
  • Cooking

For recruits with a certain skill, you can choose between 3 skill levels :

  • Low skilled = 25 stats in the chosen skill
  • Medium skilled = 50 stats in the chosen skill
  • High skilled = 75 stats in the chosen skill

How does it work ?

To recruit new recruits, you have 4 choices: the 1st is to recruit directly at IRG HQ, with some patrolling the city and others at the bar.

The 2nd is to talk to Issras, who is the head of the Issras Recruitment Guild and who is also at their HQ, so that he can send recruits to your outpost.

The 3rd is to talk to the captains of the IRG outposts.

And the last is to wait for an IRG visit to your outpost, which will allow you to request 1 delivery, not one more (I'll tell you why a little further on).

At first, when you don't have an outpost, the only way to recruit new recruits is to go to the IRG HQ, then once you have your outpost you can request a delivery which will cost you 10,000 cats and once the group has arrived at your outpost you'll have to pay for each recruit you want to add to your squad.

There are also other things you can do with the Issras Recruitment Guild, but I'll let you find out by yourself.

Tips and things to know

Read before asking any questions or saying it doesn't work...

If you want to add this mod to an existing save, an import is strongly recommended, if you want the mod to work properly.

Once you've paid for a delivery, you won't be able to request the same delivery again for 48 hours in-game. This is to prevent you from trying to request the same delivery again, because it won't work, and it will take your cats without sending you a new squad of recruits, so it's very important, if ever after 48h in game the last squad of recruits you've requested still doesn't have despawns, wait until it's despawns before requesting the same one again. On the other hand, if you want to request a different delivery, there shouldn't be any problem, but please avoid requesting too many at the same time.

For the IRG visit, I've made sure that you can only talk to her once, because according to my tests, only the 1st command works, and if you try to do another one, it won't work. Also, don't take a delivery from the visiting squad and a delivery from HQ or an outpost at the same time, as you'll be wasting your cats for nothing.

Don't ask for deliveries if you don't have an outpost, and if you do have 1, make sure you always have at least one of your characters at your outpost.

If you've built your outpost in a very dangerous area, you can still request a delivery, but then don't be surprised if your recruits don't make it to their destinations (one trick in these cases is to intercept the squad on the way and talk to the recruits before they cross an area that's too dangerous).

Sometimes it can happen that the delivery arrives at your outpost without your recruits. This doesn't necessarily mean that they've been exterminated, but perhaps just delayed, if this is the case, send one of your characters to follow the squad leader and you may end up finding your recruits.

And yes, it's Kenshi: anything can go right, just as anything can go wrong !

If you've built your outpost too close to the HQ or to an IRG outpost, the squad will bug a little and go back and forth between your outpost and the IRG, but don't worry, be patient and the squad will eventually head for another town and once it's far enough away from your characters it will despawn.

If you buy a building in a town, delivery won't work because it's not one of your outposts.

If for any reason you become enemies with the Issras Recruitment Guild, there is a Pacifier at the HUB.

If you ever have a question or find a bug that hasn't been mentioned here, don't hesitate to let me know. The more details you provide, the easier it will be for me to fix the bug or answer your question.

Compatibility Patch

- Patch for compatibility with Make Holy Nation Great Again and Hives Expanded here.

If you like my mod, don't hesitate to put a like and add it to your favorites, I'd really appreciate it.

On that note, I hope you enjoy playing with my mod, and I wish you a lot of fun.

Issras

Ps: don't pay any attention to my characters and my money, I just created a quick cheat game start to be able to test my mods ^^

Yes, but I don't recommend continuing to use military recruitment, since this mod does everything military recruitment can do and much more.:beeped:

Hey, Is this mod work normaly with millitary recruitment?

If you really want them to have better armor, you'd have to make a patch that changes the quality of the recruits armor.

I deliberately made it shoddy grade so that recruit prices stay below 100,000 cats because that's the maximum you can pay in 1 time. In reality, it's possible to pay above 100,000 cats but it would be in 2 payments, for example if a recruit cost 130,000 cats, in the UI it would display that you have to pay 100,000 cats + 30,000 cats and I don't like it displayed like that.

After some time and getting tons of Cats this mod is actually quite nice especially when you get a ton of Good People.

Little Question is there a easy way for me to change the equipment they get like instead of Shoddy maybe standard?

I'm playing other games at the moment, but when I come back to this game, if I'm interested in your mod for my own playthrough, I'll make one.
