Despite international objections, a fleet of Dwarf mining pods was launched as the Advent mapped the asteroidal caves and eliminated hazardous space-fauna. They maintained that Metalburg had no right to occupy space or to continue their long-standing, abusive monopoly on the mining of Luckyman Iron. With blasters armed, their spaceships held positions around the asteroids, attempting to drive the Advent away, but Metalburg refused to bow to their threats. After all, they knew that the incoming Dwarves were going to outnumber them and that they had potentially lethal mining lasers. After they were compelled to relent, the mining began. It wasn't over, though. In the world and in space, tensions continued to rise.
