"Roses are red / Violets are blue / You are so pretty / And I love you--" The Wolf snarled and crushed the parchment between his hands. It was all no good, no rotten good. The apple of his eye was running off with another man--running off to be bitten...he stopped the thought before its logical conclusion.

How could he--just a simple Lord--ever express his true feelings for his true love?

"Why not kill her other suitor, my liege." whispered his counselor.

The Wolf hadn't realized he was thinking aloud, and for one embarrassing second he stared impishly at the balding little man.

"Yes..." he muttered, retrieving another sheet of parchment. "Yes..." And on that sheet wrote the words: "Roses are red / Violets are blue / In Wolf's Country / Poem Kill You."

He turned to his advisor all toothless smile, and with a tone of absolute assurance he proudly said, "This is my finest poem yet."
