Simple Artillery Computer

Description
Simple Artillery Computer
Default Arma 3 artillery computer is not suitable for milsim-coop gameplay as its point&click nature seems to be way too unrealistic.
However playing with disabled artillery computer makes artillery support way slower, especially when manned by unexperienced player.
Here is where Simple Artillery Computer comes into play.

Usage:
  • To open computer, player must have Artillery Computer item in equipment (You can find it in "Items" tab in Arsenal).
  • Press "P" or use ACE Self-Interaction to open dialog - button is changable in addon's control options under [Simple Artillery Computer].
  • Select range to target - drop-down list on left, range is based on selected charge.
  • Enter own position - Grid reference, at least xxx-yyy grid is required - center position of grid will be taken. Up to 10 digits grid reference is supported (1m precision)
  • (Optional) If player has GPS or ACE Microdagr in equipment, it's possible to get own position through "GPS" button click.
  • Enter target position - same as enter own position.
  • (Optional) It's possible to select targeted keypad - by default it is a center of the grid.
  • Click "Calculate" button - Computer will fill gun elevation, distance and direction to target along with time of flight. Elevation and direction is shown in mils [en.wikipedia.org]. If any of input parameters is not suitable, error message on chat will show up.

Key-notes:
  • Terrain elevation is taken into account during calculation. No need to manually add correction.
  • All data - both input and output is saved on display closure.
  • It's advised to make sure that gunner selected proper charge on gun.

Project is also hosted on GitHub[github.com].
Feel free to report any issues.

Known issues:
  • List of possible charges bugs out, when player stands near multiple types of artilleries.

None of the tbd_mortar related mods seem to be able to use this mod. I have tried both high and low angle solutions with the m119a3, the D-20, the 120-PM-43 and the 2B9 Vasilek.

i can't figure out how to use the 120-PM-43 that uses tbd mortars. the tbd mortars disable the ballistic computer by default. I have used this mod on mortars and artillery that aren't tbd. Is there a way to make this mod work with the tbd mortars?

Hi Krzyciu, we tested with multiple guns and there is definitely issues with certain arty pieces, most notably Russian SPAs; guns trying to divide by 0 showing 0 elevation for all elevation calculations. We've uploaded a few fixes to the GIT in pull requests if you'd like to take a look.

Just tested with M109 from RHS + ACE + CBA , works completly fine. I'm not responsible for other mods you are using with this one

This mod no longer seems to work as of 19/10/24. When trying to use any long range arty with high settings, it will not come back with any elevation type at all. Tested this on CUP, RHS and Default vehicles

I just stumbled over this mod...this is exactly what I was looking for.. I dont see the ACE interaction menu...any Idea why not? I can still use P...dont like to remember jet another keybind thought.

Two Suggestions: Support Airresistance...You need to input wind direction and strength.
Support Microdagar Waypoint coordinates...so the Microdagar can transfer the active Waypoint to the Artillery computer as targetcoordinates.
