About the trolleybus model themselves (in short):

ZiU-682 (also ZiU-9) is a Soviet and Russian high—floor trolleybus of large capacity for intercity passenger transportation. This trolleybus model was in mass production from 1972 to 2015, having undergone several modifications. The ZiU-9 has become the most massive trolleybus in the world, it is operated in many cities of the post-Soviet space and in some European and South American cities. This trolleybus often appeared in Soviet films, a number of monuments in the cities of the former USSR were dedicated to it [⇨]. At the same time, some public transport researchers note that in the XXI century, the ZiU-9 is outdated, and trolleybus enterprises need to purchase new rolling stock to replace old vehicles.
ZiU-682G-016 ― a further modification of the ZiU-682G, which became the base model, serial production lasted from 1999 to 2004 and in small batches — from 2005 to 2009, differed from the base model with increased corrosion resistance and electrical safety, also a trolley bus used a travel lock system with open doors.
