About the trolleybus models themselves (in short):

ZiU-682 (also ZiU-9) is a Soviet and Russian high—floor trolleybus of large capacity for intra-city passenger transportation. This trolleybus model was in mass production from 1972 to 2015, having undergone several modifications. The ZiU-9 has become the most massive trolleybus in the world, it is operated in many cities of the post-Soviet space and in some European and South American cities. This trolleybus often appeared in Soviet films, a number of monuments in the cities of the former USSR were dedicated to it [⇨]. At the same time, some public transport researchers note that in the XXI century, the ZiU-9 is outdated, and trolleybus enterprises need to purchase new rolling stock to replace old vehicles.

ZiU-682G is a deep modernization of the ZiU―682B model, serial production began on February 1, 1991. From 1997 to 2007, a modification of the ZiU-682G-012 was produced, which differed from the original model in the layout of the cabin and the side window of the driver's cab. In 1998-2001, the ZiU-682G-014 was produced with soft individual seats instead of leather sofas.
