Description
A mini-mod that adds a number of two-handed weapons fit for dwarven hands. Also includes a horseman's pick weapon.

NOTE: Dwarf Fortress unfortunately only allows one set of graphics overlays for any given creature. Because of this, the weapons are not displayed when wielded. There is currently no fix for this besides replacing the vanilla raws, which would make this mod incompatible with any other mod that edits these raws. For this reason, the mod will remain in this state until a fix and/or workaround is released. Thank you for your understanding.

Tired of all your dwarves fighting in the same sword-and-board fashion? This mod includes 4 all-new weapons, 3 of which are 2-handed weapons - a new introduction to the vanilla dwarven arsenal. The weapons are as follows:

War Fork - The War Fork is a two-pronged pike with a powerful stab. Fares slightly more poorly against armor than the standard pike, but proves slightly more effective against fleshy foes. In most regards, however, it is quite similar to the pike, making it a good all-rounder weapon. The War Fork relies on the Pikeman skill.

Crow's Beak - The Crow's Beak, or bec de corbin, is the mightiest bludgeoning weapon at your dwarves' disposal, excelling at defeating armored opponents, breaking bones and crushing joints through even the finest armor. Unfortunately lackluster when it comes to other applications, even compared to other blunt weapons. The Crow's Beak relies on the Hammerman skill.

Sparth Axe - The Sparth Axe is a two-handed battleaxe with a long haft and a large head. While it performs well enough against most foes, it doesn't perform markedly better than its one-handed sibling in combat against most humanoid foes, armored or otherwise. Where the Sparth Axe truly shines is in combat with great foes: its broad edge and sweeping strikes allow it to inflict great harm against giants, ettins, hydras, and other monstrous foes that could shrug off the superficial cuts of lesser weapons. The Sparth Axe relies on the Axeman skill.

Horseman's Pick - The Horseman's Pick is an adaptation of the humble mining pick that is strictly better for combat. Unlike other anti-armor weapons in the dwarven arsenal, which simply inflict blunt trauma through armor, the Horseman's Pick uses its point to pierce through, inflicting more severe bleeding and severing nerves and ligaments at the cost of percussive force. It is, however, decidedly inferior to other edged weapons in all other regards save armor-piercing. The Horseman's Pick relies on the Maceman skill.

I'll take a look but my DF modding skills are mediocre at best so I might not be able to make a compatibility patch/submod

Is it now possible to add graphics, what with the new layered graphics mod?

More similar to the Dane Axe derived axes used by Gallóglaich in the 15th and 16th c.

is the Sparth Axe based on the Lochaber Axe?

A cool mod, just a shame they haven't added a better way to handle graphic tiles.
I have a few small suggestions of extra pole-arms.
A billhook and/or man-catchers would be nice as they were used to limit or control movement.
A war scythe and/or a Falx would be cool as primarily slashing weapons.

Unfortunate - I probably broke something in the latest "update". I'll look into a fix sometime this week. Thanks for the head up

Oh, how I long for the visual aspect to be fixed so mods like this can display properly!
