Soundtrack Replacer

Description
Replaces the default music in game with a personal mix of mine taken from different games - namely the Fallout, Resident Evil and The Last of Us games (and quite a few others).

UPDATE: DOES NOT WORK FOR B42.

Note: Please backup your bank files before replacing them! If you already replaced the bank files and wish to return to the vanilla OST, you may try verifying the game files via steam and it should return it to its default files.

Update 1 - 28/11
Replaced a track that was erroneously overlapping with others. Should be ok now.

This is NOT a true music mod.

In order to use this mod, you'll need to do the following:

1. Go to steamapps/workshop/content/108600/3090081485 and cut/copy the zomboidmusic.bank file

2. Replace the bank file with the zomboidmusic.bank found in steam/steamapps/common/projectzomboid/media/sounds/banks/desktop.

Load the game up and you should instantly hear the difference.

@F10NN0 Unfortunately none of the soundtrack replacer mods work for B42 due to how the audio files are organised.

I did list the mod with a B41 tag but I'll probably add it to the mod description. Thanks for the feedback.

@Winsom3r I think the mod doesn't work for B42, I replaced the ZomboidMusic bank file with the one from your mod now I have no game sound at all, no music or sound effects. Didn't crash my game tho like the other guy was saying

@ZoV HOHLORIZZ ZoV If you're playing on B41, it should still work as per normal. If you're on B42, there will probably be no difference. I have no idea why this would crash your game though.

I've double checked on my end and I've had no issues with no audio or game crashing so..... might be a result of something else I reckon?

@juanch Apart from what was mentioned a few comments ago, I don't think I'll be able to give you a track list as it's been some time since I put this mod together, and there are way too many tracks I swapped out :P

i did as you said and indeed i instantly heard the difference, the difference being absolute sillence.
tried to load the save and game crashed XD

Really loving this mod so far! Would you happen to have a tracklist? Some of these tracks would be perfect for a D&D campaign i'm a part of

Thanks a lot i really appreciate it!, and yeah cutoffs are definitely game thing, i loved silent hill music mod but for some reason it works only in mp for me, in sp it has a lot of cut offs and not all songs are playing, just the same +- 5 songs over and over again cutting off before the good parts start kicking in...
Winsom3r  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 5:47am
Thanks man. I totally get you regarding the cut offs, seems like its a game thing though, i tried other soundtrack mods and noticed similar issues - with the same files being replaced being the culprit. Unfortunately I've not found a way to completely eradicate the issue (that said, if anyone knows how to circumvent it, please let me know!)

It's been a while since I last played PZ so I can't exactly remember all the songs I used - they really are quite a number and I took a really long time with this! But some of the combat tracks are used are as follows:

- Machines (Wasteland 2 OST)
- Ambushed (Metal Gear Rising OST [Unreleased])
- Combat music from The Last of Us 2 (no name for it unfortunately)
- Flourish, Dear Child (Resident Evil 4 remake OST)

Oh and also, is there a list of the music? atleast combat ones, i need them in my playlist so hard

Yo this is one of, if not, the best soundtrack mods ever! no bugs, aside from 1 or 2 cut-offs i noticed, amazing choice of music! suits both combat and peace situations very well!
