Description
A small mod that adds a number of gems, stones, and minerals - precious and mundane - from Deep Rock Galactic. Also adds lootbugs to pop for them. Rock and Stone!

Features

New Ores, Stones, and Metals

  • Bismor! A yellow mineral that can be alloyed with bronze to form Bismor Bronze. It's like bismuth bronze, but cooler. And better for edged weapons. Research into forging stable pure bismor is ongoing. Occurs in igneous layers only.
  • Umanite! A bright green ore that can be alloyed with steel to create umasteel. Umasteel is almost as dense as silver and nearly as structurally sound as steel, making it second-to-none for blunt weapons and a decent option for edged weapons. The pale green glow is quite fetching, imparting a high material value, but attempts at forging umasteel armor have proven... unsuccessful. Occurs in metamorphic layers only.
  • Croppa! This ore fetches a handsome price even as a stone, but can be smelted into Cropparine, an economic metal with a respectable value similar to gold and platinum. Sadly, Cropparine has no practical uses. Let's face it - nobody knows what to do with all that Croppa. Occurs in sedimentary layers only.
  • Nitra! The second-dwarfiest fuel source after magma. Can be processed into coke. Ubiquitous.
  • Hollomite! A glass-like stone that holds an incredible edge. Like obsidian, can be used to make rock short swords that are terrifying effective against unarmored targets. Ubiquitous.
  • Red sugar! While eating raw chunks of red sugar mined straight from the caverns is a very dwarfy activity, R&D have strictly forbidden such after a number of cinnabar consumption incidents. Red sugar must be processed into a cooking ingredient at a quern or millstone before consumption. Ubiquitous.
  • Phazyonite! Shiny, but too fragile for our gemcutters. Can be used as a purple dye, but must be milled into powder first. Ubiquitous.

    New Gemstones

  • Jadiz! Very similar to the more standard varieties of jade, but significantly more precious to the trained dwarven eye. Occurs in alluvial layers alongside jade clusters.
  • Enor pearl! A pearl that has nothing to do with the ocean is an honorary gemstone. Occurs everywhere, but in small quantity.
  • Aquarq! A semi-precious gemstone known for its soft blue glow. Well-liked, but there always seem to be a couple more than we need, so demand is never high. Ubiquitous.
  • Bittergem! We're rich! Dwarven researchers are unsure what a bittergem really is, but suffice to say that such a poorly-understood and rare resource makes for a perfect trade good. Single bittergems can rarely be found alongside hollomite clusters.

    New creatures: Lootbugs!

  • Standard Lootbugs are sometimes found meandering about the caverns. Entirely defenseless, they can be popped for whatever goodies they've eaten up trawling through the dirt.
  • Golden Lootbugs are very rare due to both scarce natural occurrence and over-hunting. Popping one reveals a perfect golden cast of the late lootbug (read: a masterwork golden statue).
  • Rumors abound of cyan Lootbugs emerging from the semi-molten rock. Mission control assures you that such rumors are entirely speculative at best... but if you do stumble across such a legendary creature, you know what to do.

Love this!

The reaction to grind the phayzonite looks like it has copy+paste errors from the process red sugar reaction.

Graphics are provided for everything except equipped weapons and armor, which do not appear for mod compatibility reasons.

I'd like to request that regular lootbugs be made into tamable and breedable animals, for literally no reason but that they're cute. Maybe nerf them to compensate.

I'd do it myself but I'm hopeless at that kind of thing :steamsalty:

Lootbugs are genderless and won't reproduce in captivity :(
