Today I would like to introduce the M249 | Centurion.

This skin was inspired by the ancient Roman and Greek wars.

Thanks to the new effects that can be added to the game. I was able to make the skin even more realistic, with only the metallic effect on all the brass parts. All other parts don't shine and have no metallic effect on them. Only the Normalmap effect gives relief to the other elements.

The weapon is even more realistic than the CSGO version. The M249's UVMAP is hyper-complex and took me much longer than the old UVMAP, in order to render as many effects as possible.

I'm very happy with the result and finish on CS2!

There are precious materials and textures, like brass, that you can see in many golden parts. The red fabric, with a drapping effect on the back of the weapon evokes a kind of cape that the major had. You can also see engravings or ancient mosaics.

On the front of the weapon, you can see engravings. A ship trying to get out of a storm at sea. A sun illuminates the top, the whole thing circled in an eye shape. As on all Greek ships,an eye is painted on the bow of the boat.
The tradition of depicting eyes on the prow of ships of all types has continued in some parts of the world until today. The objective : to protect the boat from the evil eye.

We also find the "cingula" belt : « the belt was synonymous with becoming a soldier because he was never to leave it even during chores, take it off or lose it ». You can see it on the back of the weapon and also on the front and back of the ammo-box.

The main part of the weapon: The typical Greek mosaic effects, also remind the hull of a warship, navigating on the sea. Because this kind of pattern is often found on the sides of a trireme.

There is also a shield on the magazine side, representing the defence. The hoplites (Greek soldier) never lost their shield, a symbol showing that if a hoplite lost his shield, then he could not protect his brothers. The shield is therefore a symbol of protection. This remind the M249 allowing to occupy the enemies during a conflict and to protect its allies exercising a strategy.

At the back and and the front of the charger, we find a belt of centurion or gladiator. I thought it gives him a little more charisma, in FPS mode. On the other side of the magazine, we also see the storm.
