Queer Rights
for Victoria 3 1.9.*

A small content mod that adds a new law category, Queer Rights, with five different laws reflecting a spectrum of legal tolerance for lgbt behavior:


The laws have a small effect on Birth Rate and Devout power, and passing higher tiers will net a small boost of loyalists across the population. Pop support and ideological stances on the issue are limited. Patriarchal and religious ideologies support sodomy laws. Moderate reformers and nihilists support decriminalization as part of broader rationalization of law codes. Anarchists support the higher tiers of the law. Fascists support Gender Roles Enforced.

Along with the new law category are two historical Agitators that can appear later in the game: Karl Heinrich Ulrichs and Magnus Hirschfeld. These two come with a special Sexual Reformer ideology that fully supports both women's suffrage and queer rights. Magnus Hirschfeld can also trigger a special event to found the Institute of Sex Research.

The 1836 setup of Queer Rights laws is a work in progress, if you spot a country that should have a different setting than it currently does, please point it out (with a source)

Compatibility
This mod edits several vanilla ideologies to add stances on Queer Rights. I give full permission to anyone to make compatibility patches for this mod. The mod is also only available in English currently, feel free to make translations too.
