Light rail tracks 1435 mm

Description
Standard gauge tracks especially for laying roadside, for interurbans, industrial railroads and light rail systems.

For cost reasons, less important railway lines and sidings and of course trams were often built next to existing roads - attractive scenarios that were unfortunately difficult to implement in Transport Fever 2. Standard tracks with a high ballast bed could be laid roadside using mods such as 'Parallel Tool' or 'Build with Collision', but unrealistically deep trenches were created at the edges of the bedding. On certain street types, this caused the pavement to hang in the air, and it also made it difficult to build near the sides. This mod provides a remedy. It contains three special track types with low bedding, wooden sleepers and/or reduced curve speed to simulate an imaginary lack of superelevation. All track types also have a very narrow minimum radius and a finer curve resolution as default, making them ideal for factory premises, too:
- provisionally walkable track, covered with grit up to just below the rail head, without bumper,
- normally ballasted track, but with low bedding that extends to just below the top edge of the sleeper, without bumper,
- standard track with normal-height ballast, also with reduced curve speed (except 60 km/h track), for real level crossings with a stop function (not possible for roadside track!) or private right-of-way.

Important notes:

- Certain mods referenced here as well as the 'Only used track types for adapters' feature are not available on game consoles, but are not stringently required either.
- Only track types appear which are activated in the mod dialog at 'Advanced Game Settings'!
- For laying on streets or for pseudo level-crossings without a stop function, the tracks with low bedding must be lowered by 12 centimeters. The use of the tools mentioned above is essential for this.
- Only track types with high ballast are suitable for real level crossings - either the attached one or any other track type with a normal high ballast bed. The connection to low-bed tracks can only be made using the adapter included in this mod - which can be found in the 'Track Constructions' menu. Instead of using the [M] and [N] keys, the adapter build direction can be reversed using the buttons in the settings dialog. The catenary of the adapter usually has got no masts.
- It would be nice if anyone would mod compatible modular light railway stations/platforms for tracks with low bedding. ;-)
- In order to equip tracks with low bedding with bumpers, this mod includes a bumper as a track asset that can be snapped onto the track.
- Using alternative track styles, the light rail tracks adapt to them to achieve a consistent look. When using the 'Natural Environment Professional' mod (NEP², not on Steam) the masts are also adjusted.
- For compatibility with certain other mods, the real speed of the 40 km/h tracks is not 40, but 39 km/h. ;-)
- If the mod 'Natural Environment Professional' (NEP²) is installed, the directory of this mod must exactly be 'unixroot_natural_environment_pro_tpf2_2' and located in the CORRECT mod directory (i.e. NOT among the 'urbangames' mods) so that the typical NEP features are adopted. Please do not rename files from this mod or those from NEP.

Known issues:

- Laying low-bed tracks at a standard distance next to high-bed tracks, 'burying' or 'undercutting' of neighboring tracks occurs, depending on track speed. Using the adapter on parallel tracks is therefore a problem, too. In this case, the adapters must be placed exactly beside each other - comparable to the construction of multi-track bridges. Mods with a parallel track function such as 'Track Builder', 'Parallel Tool' or 'Auto Parallel Tracks' can also be helpful here.
- When connecting covered and low ballasted tracks conventionally, the characteristics of one track type are sometimes partially or completely transferred to adjacent tracks. A clean separation is created by locked track segments from the 'Track Builder' mod.
- Parallel tracks of the 'covered' type do not snap to each other at a distance of 5 meters. Mods such as 'Track Builder', 'Parallel Tool' or 'Auto Parallel Tracks' provide remedy.
- If alternative track mods are subsequently removed, undesirable changes can occur in the ground texture near the track.
- Trams declared as railroad vehicles must be designed for a contact wire height of 6 meters. Variants with low catenary may follow if there's any interest.

Cant find anything to run on these or custom station

You can do this with my "Parallel Tool" mod and VacuumTube's "Build With Collision".

how do you make this tracks in the road on the last photo?

Ah ok I understand. I keep forgetting platform height is important sometimes. For freight I'm usually not too picky, and for passengers our trains here are stuck in 1955 so we still climb steps to board lol.

The track doesn't really change the platform height, but the track is lower. So there's more distance from the bottom of the bedding (from where the platform height is calculated) to the upper platform edge.

@WernerK hey that's great thanks, I'll check it out!
I don't understand how the track type would change the platform height tho? I've never seen that with any mods (tracks or platforms).

Now I've uploaded the new version with unlockable tracks for modular stations. I don't think that Doug can patch his mod because the year is necessary. But he needs not to do this, because I've already implemented a solution for my mod and so I will do this for all my mods in future.

Theoretically you can use tracks with low bedding for all stations, i.e. also for those with normal high platforms. But they would become 35 cm higher. This may cause issues, so you should know what you're doing. The optimal way was if some modders could create special stations and platforms for low light railway tracks. I've done my bit :steamhappy:
