Description
T-70 is a successor to T-60 light tank that features better protection and armament. It was the second most mass-produced tank of the Red Army during WW2, produced since April of 1942 up until October of 1943, with over 8,200 tanks produced in total.

While still following the idea of its predecessor and, as such, suitable for production on industrial plants normally not suited for tank production, T-70 was more complicated to produce and, as such, it was primarily manufactured by Gorkiy Automotive Plant (GAZ) that had the necessary equipment, up until the bombings of GAZ in 1943 that hampered the production.

T-70 tanks began to appear on the battlefield starting from summer of 1942, with Battle of Kursk being the last operation where they were used en masse. While, being a wartime ersatz, it was inadequate against Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks in most situations, it was still capable of putting up a fight when it was utilized correctly, and its more powerful cannon made it even better at infantry support role than its predecessor.
