Heavy Iron Ammo

Description
Heavy Iron Ammo is a simple rebalancing of the NATO 25x184mm large gatling ammunition. The major changes are:

- Requires less than 1/3rd of the magnesium to manufacture.
- Requires a bit more than 3x the iron to manufacture.
- Requires a tiny amount of uranium ingots to manufacture.
- 25x184mm ammo boxes carry almost twice as many rounds in the same volume.

The balance is for the E-UNI EEP server where player concerns were expressed about the magnesium cost of anti-meteor ammunition and the rate of depletion even in a "normal" world. These changes are *not* enough to allow "in sunlight" construction without considerable cost, but they do transfer much of the cost from magnesium to the much more common iron, with a very slight additional cost of uranium.

Currently, Space Engineers doesn't seem to allow adding a brand new type of ammo that current weapons will recognize. So for now, Heavy Iron 25x184mm ammo fully replaces the NATO 25x184mm cartridge.

(NOTE: This mod will not work alongside my "Quad-Sized 25x184 Gatling Ammo Boxes" mod, because they both modify the default ammo box. If both are loaded, then the game will choose only one to work.)

thanks man and short supply is a understatement all u get a lot of is steel plates, girders,L and S steel tubes, construction and engine componets, computers and motors i dont think i forgot anything. on occasion ull get lucky and score a hit on a mining transport but thats the only way really to get magnesium or dis assemble the less valueable missiles for it to make ammo other than that its very rough.

@V4DARS: Hmm, interesting concept. I'd imagine that most materials that you acquire would be from salvage, so magnesium would be in extremely short supply. I should give that playstyle a try for awhile, just to see what raw materials are available, and in what ratios, to determine a good balance for "pirate ammo".

u need to make a pirating server ammo mod, i went to a pirating server that had no roids and not much starting stuff and even when u did get a ship ammo cost a crazy ammount for a server like that so if u could make a ammo mod that made ammo super cheap like .1 of all materials that would be great

On our server, we are actually planning on replacing them fully with Draygo's "Physics Meteoroids" mod. We're looking for a good set of config value first, though; we don't want to temporarily make the world almost completely safe in the meantime. :)

Cool idea...I understand your concerns about the meteorite problem, we had the same thoughts. The game says that the normal setting's frequency is "rare", but it seems like every 15 minutes to me. There's a server-side mod floating around out there somewhere to make it truly rare.

Hopefully someday Keen will allow us to add additional ammo boxes, instead of having to modify the existing ones. When that happens, this ammo box can exist alongside the original single-size ammo box.
