Hielran Light Frigate

"An old yet reliable workhorse of the ECN, the Hielran Light Frigate has been in service for decades and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon despite it's age. Originally armed with powerful rocket mortar turrets when it was first produced the Hielran was later upgraded with more modern assault cannon turrets to improve its capabilities. These newer guns offer greater range and the ability to engage many kinds of targets including small fast moving craft. A rather unique feature of the ship is it's large funnel towards the stern of the ship that is used to vent off the heat produced by the ships various systems via stored gases that are heated up then released. Sadly the ship is too small to fit a jump drive meaning the Hielran must dock with another ship to perform a jump. This limits the ships usefulness in long range missions and means it cannot keep up with a fleet of more modern vessels unassisted. However the Hielran is often seen patrolling ECN controlled systems thanks to its low cost to produce and operate. Most of the Hielrans systems have also been brought up to par with modern systems making it a capable vessel even against more modernized foes."
