Creature Respawn Chances

Description
Did you know that in story mode creatures just respawn with 1/3 (1/2 in some campaigns) chance each time after you kill them? Or even worse they will just respawn right away after cycle if they were killed by non players.

This mod replaces creature respawn chance percentage, and also makes creatures not killed by players respawn by chance, instead of respawning instantly.
It can provide less swarms of creatures in story mode campaign, or even more enemies respawning each cycle depending on set up respawn chance.

0% respawn chance will disallow creatures to respawn at all (extinction moment), until changed to a higher value or mod being disabled/uninstalled :(
100% on other hand will make every creature respawn each cycle, so be careful of hostile hordes.

Remix options (Creature Respawn Chances):
  • Replace respawn chance – replaces creatures respawn chance (very useful description)
  • Respawn chance % – chance that dead creatures will respawn after cycle (vanilla default is 33.333334%, mod default is 10%)
  • Specific hard campaigns respawn chance % – chance that dead creatures will respawn after cycle in specific "hard mode" campaigns (Spearmaster, Artificer, and Hunter) (vanilla default is 50%, mod default is 20%)
  • Non player kills activate respawn chance – creatures that weren't killed by players will still respawn by respawn chance, instead of respawning instantly each cycle
  • Non player kills activate lineage – creatures that weren't killed by players will still try to lineage
  • Don't activate lineages on environmental deaths – creatures that weren't killed by players will only attempt to lineage if they were killed by other creatures (no environmental deaths, such as falling into death pits, lava, toxic water, rain, drowning, unless it was caused by other creature, for example scavenger throws rock at lizard and it falls off a cliff)
  • Non player kills activating lineage chance % – chance that creatures that weren't killed by players will attempt to lineage (doesn't affect their original lineage chance, they will still have to pass their original lineage chance check afterwards, unless option below is enabled) (default is 100%)
  • Always progress lineage – lineages will always progress with 100% chance (not recommended, unless if you want 12858128582 red lizards and centipedes roaming around the world)
  • Lineage instant respawn - creatures that lineage after death are guaranteed to respawn after cycle (creature will still respawn even if respawn chance is set to 0)
  • No more room in Rubicon – Rubicon creatures will have default respawn chances instead of them instantly respawning after each cycle by default.

suggestion: add a separate respawn chance for offscreen den creatures (scavengers, rain deer, vultures, miros birds, and leviathans)
i want to have their respawn chances at 100

Very interesting mod, it's nice to have something to finally edit this type of stuff.

Outta curiosity, would/could you create alternative functions for how the lineage system works by any chance?

Currently as it stands, lineage systems are one way and means long term.

You're gonna have to deal with Red Lizards and other dangerous predators everywhere.



Example of a possible alternative Lineage System.

Green Lizard Den -> 10% to Lineage to Pink Lizard -> 10% to Lineage to Red. (Den Example)

With the change however, when the Red Lizard dies, it goes back to the Green Lizard to start over.



Another would be.

Green Lizard Den -> 10% to Lineage to Pink Lizard -> 10% to Lineage to Red. (Den Example)

When the Den Lizard dies -> 90% Chance to Respawn as Green, 9% as Pink, 1% as Red.

update: it wasn't just the red centipede, it was every creature. the issue was caused by apex up your spawns, specifically the "randomize every cycle" setting, which seems to replace creatures every cycle for some reason? it also causes creatures to look different every cycle, and duplicates them if used with this mod. every creature was affected, even creatures from lineages, and eventually caused the region to be completely filled with red lizards and red centipedes. i fixed it by disabling apex up your spawns and restarting my save.

this mod duplicated the red centipede at sky islands as hunter
