Description
One of the Trans-Island Line's most consistently profitable industries from the 1960s until it went bankrupt in the early 21st century a few years before the Collapse, the Last Resort Cannery processed and produced tinned sardines to be sent in bulk shipments along the railway to the rest of the island and the outside world. The company supported a thriving industrial complex in Bleak Inlet for over three decades, but financial woes caused it to shut down in the early 2000's, leaving the complex abandoned. The cannery was connected to the rest of the railroad via a branch line along the coast from Port MacKinley, as the terrain between Raven Falls and the tunnel at Coastal Highway was too steep to allow for a more direct connection. This branch line was almost completely torn up after the cannery shut down, as the ties were still in good shape and needed for repairs on the main line.

Wooden curved-roof boxcars like this one were used for transporting tinned sardines in bulk, as they were more easily compatible with the cannery's loading dock than the larger boxcars used elsewhere on the railroad.

Recommended to operate on Rinston's Great Bear Island Railway layout.
