MTZ-82 - Legendary Belorussian tractor

Belarus produced the very first tractors of the MTZ-82 model back in 1970. These were prototypes assembled on the basis of the MTZ-50 and MTZ-52 models, distinguished by total modification. However, the new MTZ 82 was assembled from almost the same parts, so finding spare parts at low prices for the new model did not create problems for people. This became one of the factors in the popularity of tractors from the Minsk plant, whichare still found in incredible quantities in the territory of the former USSR.

The task for the Minsk Tractor Plant to create a new tractor for universal field work was set by the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Field tests of the model were completed in 1972. It turned out that high engine speeds and increased speed allow the tractor to be used more rationally, which had a positive effect on its further operation. Among the external changes, the differences in the casing and cabin are especially noticeable, and among the internal ones, the total modernization of the device’s engine.

Sales of MTZ 82 tractors began in 1974. It was recognized by its semi-frame design, the engine, which was still located in the front, enlarged driving rear wheels and small front ones. The price of the MTZ 82 was slightly higher than that of the twin tractor model MTZ 80. The reason was the presence of all-wheel drive, which the younger model could not boast of. a>



The new MTZ 82 is produced in several modifications. Differences in the number of gears, methods of starting the engine, the location of places for attachments, the rubber used on the wheels, the presence or absence of systems for operation on the slopes.

To this day, farmers in St. Petersburg, wanting to buy a tractor, choose the MTZ 82. Traction class 1.4, powerful engine of 81 horsepower, the ability to cope with an incredible number of field tasks, including sowing, harvesting and transport, excellent maneuverability and maneuverability make it irreplaceable. In addition, the MTZ 82 tractor owes its popularity in sales to its wide range of activities in the public utilities sector. The price of the model makes the Belarusian tractor stand out among its European analogues.
