Spring 1940. The German Army has broken through the French lines and threatens the British Expeditionary Force with complete encirclement and annihilation. To avoid a catastrophe, the British Army orders a hasty withdrawal to the port of Dunkirk, where it will evacuate back to England. There are few maneuvers more dangerous in combat than a withdrawal while in active engagement with the enemy. Brave French and British forces must hold the Germans back as long as possible to allow time for their comrades to retreat across the channel and live to fight another day.
