"The Devourer" Ren Jung has never had a home. The son of a poor Japanese man and a destitute Korean woman, young Ren was constantly bullied by his classmates for being a poor outsider who didn't "belong" in his own country. Indeed, the world devoured and spit Ren Jung out long before he bit back at it.

But when he finally took up arms against the world that spurned him, the Earth itself shook with fear. In a desperate attempt to learn to defend himself, an 11-year old Ren began studying at a seedy Muay Thai gym owned by a foreigner who took pity on him. He was a natural fighter and the ease with which he decimated his sparring partners gave him the confidence to terrorize the schoolboys who so often terrorized him. Following years of fights and several arrests, Ren was expelled from school before his 16th birthday.

With no conventional workplace skills and no prospects, Jung found employment as an instructor at the gym that trained him. Yet even that brought him no luck; his master, deep in debt, was forced to flee the country before even a year had passed!

And so, a down-on-his luck Ren took up professional wrestling to support himself and his aging parents. Dominating opponent after opponent with his martial arts skill and sheer power, Ren Jung quickly gained infamy as a monstrous "Devourer." That infamy then ballooned massively as he entered and won the first "Worldwide Race to 100" tournament he ever entered without suffering a single loss.

Now "The Devourer" reigns over Grand Fusion Wrestling, Japan's top promotion, as a feared, nigh-unbeatable living legend. And though he's heard whispers of one of his first victim's return and shocking transformation, Ren is not afraid to return to the brutal tournament that made him wealthy and famous. If nothing else, The Devourer is determined to prove to himself that he is the greatest wrestler in the world and truly worthy of all the success he's attained.
