A weapon design I've had in mind for a while.

The sickle end, in a sword fight; allows one to catch and steer away the opponents blade, same applies to the hooked hilt.

The bladed portion, combined with the hooked sickle end; allows one to also ensnare and slash opponents, or pull armoured foes around; allowing for a strike to vulnerable joints or gaps in armour.

The point of the sickle also enables swing-based thrusting for armour penetration, if the armour is soft, like leather.

Sickle also allows for more accurate chopping; better enabling the amputation of an opponents limbs; or body parts, if aimed at an exposed body joint.

Designed primarily to be oppressive and controlling in battle; leaving the opponent very little in the ways of actually fighting back; unless they out-range the user.
